Responsibilities of the job
- Category Management: develop and implement category strategies to optimize value, ensuring alignment with Cordstrap’s customer-centric and innovative approach.
- Supplier Relationship Management: build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to drive performance, innovation, and value.
- Innovation & Agile Procurement: drive procurement innovation by identifying opportunities for integrating cutting-edge solutions, focusing on agility to quickly adapt to market changes and stakeholder needs.
- Data Management & Analytics: lead the development of procurement data management practices, leveraging analytics to make informed decisions and optimize supplier performance.
- Performance Management: develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier success and procurement excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, ensuring that procurement activities contribute effectively to Cordstrap’s success.
- Risk Management: identify, evaluate, and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure reliability and continuity of supply.
- Contract Negotiation: lead negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal terms and conditions, focusing on integrity, fairness, and long-term relationships.
Position
You are part of the planning team, and report to the supply chain planning director. You work autonomously with sales, supply chain, and financial colleagues around the world, at all levels of our organization.
Profile
As a Strategic Buyer, you have experience or affinity with the manufacturing industry. With a holistic view, you know how to anticipate the interests of supply chain, finance, marketing, and product development and translate these into procurement strategies and established processes. In this open and entrepreneurial culture, you take a proactive and approachable attitude. For this position, we expect the following qualities:
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field).
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a procurement or buying role, with a focus on strategic sourcing and supplier management.
- Experience in data analytics, project management and performance management in procurement.
- Proven ability to innovate, bring fresh ideas, and demonstrate agility in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster open, flat, and transparent relationships internally and externally.
- Proficiency in procurement software and data management tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer-centric and execution-driven work, looking for ways to improve service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
- Integrity to maintain high ethical standards in all negotiations and interactions.
- Agile and innovative: you adapt quickly to changing priorities, brings new ideas, and challenges the status quo.
- Team player: you thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrating an openness to share knowledge and learn from others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (in Dutch and English)
