Job description

The Area Sales Manager will cover a customer base spread across The Netherlands and Belgium with roughly 160 accounts focusing predominantly on retention and helping to drive growth through opportunity development in conjunction with colleagues. This person will be responsible for driving revenue and profit growth within an establish customer base by ensuring customer needs are being met. This person will work from a home-based office and report to the Commercial Director – UK & Benelux.

  • Maintain and build strong relationships with new and current customers
  • Increase market share in the designated account base through account management and some new business development
  • Identify customer’s needs to ensure meeting their expectations and staying within manufacturing requirements
  • To take immediate action on any customer to ensure retention of business and both prfoit and revenue growth
  • To ensure our solutions meet or exceeds customer requirements including Legislation Compliance and Quality Standards
  • Manage the customer base through a predetermined Coverage Strategy to provide securing improvements and implement product/process changes which improve the functionality and performance in the customer
  • Utilize consultative selling to demonstrate total cost of ownership reduction to customers
  • Educate and re-enforce to all customers processes, procedures, prices, cost, and contribution which build understanding of total costs for the customer
  • Actively introduce new solutions and applications into existing customers to improve their performance as well as identifying solutions to the needs of new business customers
  • Maintain accurate customer information through daily use of CRM

Successful applicant

  • Degree level education
  • 3 years of relevant sales experience in a related job
  • Ability to perform professional demonstrations of product applications in field based environments
  • Ability to work in various industry segments
  • Excellent negotiation and consultative selling skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, self-starter
  • Ability to sell from the Board Room to Warehouse
  • Disciplined time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and strong presentation skills
  • Strong outgoing sales personality and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Proven track record for exceeding sales targets
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and CRM tools
  • Ability for travel within designated account base
